Lounge is a semi-quiet place for students and adults to hang out (see the Handbook for all details about Lounge). When the bell rings, take attendance. If students are missing you will need to check with sub-pool to see if the family is out. If the family is here, have someone from the Board Table find the parent so we know the location of the student and bring them back to the lounge if needed.

At the counter by the Main Entrance downstairs, it's important to be ready at your station before the bell rings. You will be responsible for monitoring anyone entering, leaving, or passing through the halls. Each area has a few responsibilities and these are written in your folder. You will also direct & help people to exits during an emergency, so you will need to be familiar with our emergency procedures, also located in your folder. In Preschool Movement, we get the kids moving outside as often as possible. There will be lots of time for free-play on the playground structure, as well as games such as circuits, duck-duck-goose, tag, hopscotch and relay races. Bubbles, balloons, streamers, and movement songs will also be a part of our fun time together.

By Lower Floor restrooms, it's important to be ready at your station before you need to ring the bell. You MUST walk the entire back hallway and through the Fellowship Area EVERY time. Refer to the bell schedule in your folder. You will need to check the restroom BEFORE your hour is over. Please clean up any paper, wipe counters, & stock toilet paper (kept in custodial closet). Each area has a few responsibilities and these are written in your folders. You will also direct & help people to exits during an emergency, so you will need to be familiar with our emergency procedures, also located in your folder. THERE WILL BE A MANDATORY TRAINING MEETING time and location to be announced.

By Main Floor restroom, it's important to be ready at your station before you need to ring the bell. Refer to the bell schedule in your folder. You will need to check the restroom BEFORE your hour is over. Please clean up any paper, wipe counters, & stock toilet paper (kept in custodial closet). If you are scheduled for a sub pool job, at the very beginning of the period go to the board table and check in with the board table attendant. You will be assigned a job where a sub is needed. If there are no immediate needs, then you may use the remainder of that period as you wish on campus (please let the board table attendant know where you will located in case a need does come up).

This class offers extra phonics practice to help students build confidence as they begin their journey to becoming readers. We’ll review letter sounds, identify beginning, middle, and ending sounds in words, and practice sounding out and blending words. Hands-on activities like sorting, word building, and creating word families will keep learning active and fun. A variety of games will reinforce skills while making phonics enjoyable! This is not a full phonics program. The goal is to provide reinforcement activities that support and strengthen what students are learning at home. Skills Covered: Letter sounds, CVC words, short vowels, beginning and ending blends. We will revisit the same foundational phonics skills each year.

Picture-Perfect Science will be lots of fun with many hands-on experiments while we learn! The curriculum follows the National Science Education Standards for K-4 and uses the basics of the scientific method. Every two weeks, we will read a fiction book and then a nonfiction book related to our weekly lesson topics, such as bubbles, trees, oceans, magnets, rocks, stars, worms and more. This is a 2-year rotation class (we will be using the 1st year curriculum) meaning we will do new experiments and topics in the 2026-267 year if there are repeat students from the 2025-26 class.

Art Medium 101 will teach kids that God is The Creator, we are made in His image therefore everyone can create just like Him. We will work on basic drawing skills, painting, color theory, mixed media, sculpting, pastels, and more. We will look at famous artist's and experiment making similar work while listening to music as we create with some lessons. We will create with growing confidence and learn to embrace the "Beautiful Oops" by Barney Salzberg. If your child is already confident or not confident at all in creating art, I would love the chance to encourage in The Truth that we are made to create just like our Heavenly Father The Creator.

This class will focus on earth science at grade appropriate levels. Each week we will have a lesson with either an art project, science experiment, or activity to help the kids have a deeper understanding of the lesson. There are so many topics to dive into with earth science so this class will have rotating topics from one year to another.

In this class, students will put together a binder of the 50 US states, a sectional map as we start a new state group, the Great Lakes, North America and major rivers of our country. We will label the capitol and largest city in each state and maybe something special in each state. We will also look at pictures from each state. We will practice our state knowledge and trivia through games and puzzles. Each student will also have a US map test sheet that he/she will color in as they memorize a state name. This class is the same every year.

Learn the most popular game ever invented! Chess develops spatial thinking, problem solving, and builds focused concentration. Chess 2 is designed for beginning students who are ready to tackle learning chess strategy at a faster pace and for returning students who want to continue learning and improving their chess game. Students will receive a one year Chesskid.com gold membership with class enrollment. This will allow them to utilize videos, lessons and puzzles on Chesskid.com to learn such things as how to build a pawn shield, create a fork with your knight, pin the rook, and skewer the queen - all on the way to checkmate! Students will also learn chess variants, participate in puzzle challenges, and in-class tournaments. The majority of class time will be spent PLAYING chess!

Welcome to Jr. Drama! In this class we have fun and a lot of energy. We will also work to build confidence, team building and communication skills. We play drama games, improv, short skits and more.

Lounge is a semi-quiet place for students and adults to hang out, work on schoolwork, visit with a friend, play a quiet card game, listen to music with headphones, etc (see handbook for all details about Lounge). Lounge meets in the Fellowship Hall.

"Math is seeing patterns, solving puzzles, using logic, finding ways to connect disparate ideas, and so much more." In Math Club, we will play around with all these elements through games, projects, activities, and non-routine problems that require deep thinking. Students will reinforce their comfort with the basic operations of arithmetic, as well as delving into fractions, decimals, and basic geometry.

Do you wonder if your student really comprehends the books they read? Many times students can answer simple questions about a book but miss the deeper meaning. This class will delve deeper into literature through homework and class discussion. We will have an exciting mix of books that will expose the students to other cultures, history and are adventure-filled as well as entertaining. Because of the variety of reading abilities, parents can choose to have the student read to themselves, a parent read, or listen to an audio book. Each week we will have class discussions pertaining to the book and go over the new vocab words they encounter in these great classics. This class was on a two-year rotation, but this year we will be reading some new books in addition to ones from year 1 rotation.

Outdoor Games is a mixture of sports and active games. We will ALWAYS be outdoors and participation is ALWAYS required! We emphasize a verse of the week and character building as well as leadership.

Designed for students ready to stretch their skills, this class builds on the foundation of Creative Canvas (4th–6th grade) with all-new projects and slightly more advanced techniques. While the format remains approachable and guided, students will take on artwork that encourages greater detail, creativity, and artistic confidence. Using acrylic paints, paint pens, and mixed-media materials, we’ll create vibrant pieces step by step — layering each painting from background to foreground in a way that makes even more complex results feel achievable. Students will work on a variety of surfaces, including stretched canvases and canvas boards ranging from 8x10 to 16x20, and explore embellishments that add texture and personality. Come ready to challenge yourself, grow your skills

Students will learn the basics of cooking whole foods from scratch; how to follow a recipe or make ingredient swaps and substitutions when needed; where to source seasonal foods grown in our area and how to grow edible flowers and herbs in pots. We will also cover topics such as: helpful kitchen tools & organization, menu planning, table setting, how to store food to last longer and reduce waste. We will be using the Nourishing Traditions cookbook as our textbook which is largely based on the research of Dr. Weston A. Price. By the end of the school year students will have the skills and knowledge to serve their family a beautiful meal, gaining deeper knowledge and gratitude for how traditional whole foods build faith, health, families and communities.

This is a beginning course in robotics. We will be utilizing Lego Mindstorm EV3 robot kits and Lego Spike Prime kits. The objective of this course is to introduce the student to basic programming as well as problem solving skills. Students will work hands-on in teams to design, build and program the robots. At the beginning of the year each team will build base robots and learn how the motors and sensors operate and use the EV3 scratch software to program the robots. We will conduct a battle bot competition and then end the year working together to complete First Lego League challenges using the skills we have learned throughout the year.

Pacific Northwest History will offer a comprehensive survey of the history of the Pacific Northwest including Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. We will explore those who first lived in the region, Native Americans, the explorers who charted the area, the missionaries who came to spread the Gospel, and those whose blood, sweat and tears made the Pacific NW what it is today. We will spend time looking at the diverse economics of the region and the unique political system of initiatives and referendums. This course will offer opportunities to debate issues, write creatively, and better understand the amazing region in which we live.

This class is intended for students who desire to grow as personal worshipers of Christ as well as skillful musicians who can lead others into corporate worship. We will both challenge and encourage each other through a time of scriptural reflection and prayer, then we will move into a time of practical application as we utilize God's good gift of music! Focus will primarily be placed on preparing music for worship at chapel but emphasis will also be given to improving skill, technique, and musicianship. Music theory will be taught as it applies to the worship setting.

Through short prayers, deep breathing and stretching - we will step away from the constant spiral of our thoughts. We will train our mind to focus on Christ and His word so we may transform how we respond to anxiety, fear, and worry. We will learn how God designed our nervous and respiratory systems to gain emotional, physical and cognitive benefit. Class will include guided prayer, physical movement, and group discussion while exploring different journaling styles. "For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace." Romans 8:5-6 ESV

This is an Algebra 2 class for those who have successfully completed Algebra 1. During class we will cover any questions from the previous week's work, introduce new material (4 lessons) and correct the weekly test performed at home. Students will receive a grade based on daily assignments (50% of their grade) and test scores (50% of their grade). Parental involvement is ESSENTIAL and REQUIRED. Parent(s) will be correcting their daily assignments and having them re-do missed homework problems to enhance their student's learning. In this course we review all topics of Algebra 1, continuing geometry and introduce trigonometry all while striving for accuracy.

This rigorous college-prep biology course provides a detailed introduction to the methods and concepts of general biology. Heavily emphasizing the vocabulary of biology, this course will provide the student with a strong background in the scientific method, the five-kingdom classification scheme, microscopy, biochemistry, cellular biology, molecular and Mendelian genetics, evolution, dissection, and ecosystems. It also provides a complete survey of the five kingdoms in Creation. Students who take and understand this course will be very well-prepared for a university sciences. Successful completion of the course results in high school science credit with a lab. Class time will be spent in lecture, module review and labs.

Current Events is taught through a Biblical lens and Christian worldview. In class we will be learning about the big moral issues of the day that impact our lives and the world around us. Each week we will be engaging in conversation after learning about our topic of the week by Professor and Apologist Dr. Sean McDowell. I believe our young adults must learn how to think Biblically and know how to address and engage their generation respectfully through the lens of the Gospel, the only truth. The goal of my class is for my students to be seekers of Biblical wisdom and truth and to help equip them to give an answer for the hope that they have in Jesus. (1 Peter 3:15)

This class is for Running Start Students, ONLY. Running Start students should sign up for this class if they will be at LHC regularly or on occasion. Students that sign up for this class are expected to be in lounge.

The nursery is available for infants - age 3 and does not require session payments.The only payment required is a $15-20 fee per semester to cover the cost of snacks and supplies for nursery. Parents who are registering a child in the nursery will be expected to serve in the nursery for one of their jobs. Any co-op parent is encouraged to work in the nursery if they would enjoy this job!

This person will walk the building and the grounds throughout the period they are assigned, looking for anything out of place. You will have a walkie talkie to use to communicate to the Board and Security Positions should anything arise. You will need to walk or drive the grounds, rain or shine.
