WANTED! Baristas! Apply Within! This is your chance to learn a marketable skill that can be used directly in a real-world application. Students will be exposed to important business skills, including customer service, food and work safety, and team skills in a work environment. And of course, they will learn how to make delicious espresso drinks, which they will serve to co-op parents during 5th period. Students will also get to drink coffee. You've been warned!
There will be homework at the beginning of the year as the students learn important definitions and terminology.
Once training has been completed, we will begin making espresso drinks for co-op parents. We will also name our coffee shop and design a logo.

The ability to listen and follow directions, work well under pressure, and collaborate as part of a team is essential. Strong multitasking skills are also crucial for success. Please make sure that your student is mature enough for these demands. Not every 8th grader is ready.
Due to the high demand for this class, please do not enroll your student if they have already taken Coffee Shop in the past. Before enrolling your student in this class, please take their maturity level into account. This course requires students to work quickly and manage multiple tasks at once. In our experience, students who struggle with these demands may find the class challenging and even overwhelming. We encourage you to assess whether your child is ready for this fast-paced and responsibility-driven environment.
