The Character Project

Grade: 4 - 6 Min: 4 Max: 15 (15 seats remaining)

Min Assistants: 2 Max Assistants: 2 (2 seats remaining)

Description:

This class is on a 2-year rotation with new traits, people to learn from and activities every other year. What made C.S. Lewis such an influencer? How did Amy Carmichael rescue so many children from slavery in India? Along with Loren Cunningham, A.W. Tozer, Henry Heinz and King Saul's son Jonathan, they all have something in common: strong, Godly character. Building character at a young age sets our children up for success in life. Part history, social studies, and language arts, this fun class will examine the lives of people who exemplify the kind of character we want to develop. Resilient, hardworking, generous and purposeful are just a few traits we will examine. Join us as we learn how to become a master character builder!

Homework:

Weekly discussion questions and Scripture memorization. I will also send weekly updates containing supplemental information should parents want more during the week.

Special Projects:

Students will have an ongoing project: As they complete each character study, they will fill in mini-booklets that will be added to a lap book which they will use for a final presentation at end of the year. The lap book is a wonderful keepsake for students to have so they can remember all the traits, people, history and Scriptures they have learned.

Supplies/Curriculum to be Provided by Student:

Pencils, erasers, scissors, glue, a 3 ring binder and their choice of crayons, markers or colored pencils.

Material Fees:

$25 first semester, $10 second semester. This covers all file folders, mini-booklets, worksheets and supplemental materials.
