Mystery of History III (7-8)

Description:

Embark on an exciting journey through world history from the Renaissance through the Reformation (1455-1707) Students will create a Mystery of History notebook, which features a keepsake timeline. Alongside this, the class will have various crafts, activities, and a few written assignments throughout the year. Students will learn to create memory cards, memorizing 12 important dates during the course. Join us as we dig into the past, revealing God’s sovereign hand in history.

Homework:

2-3 hours per week. Read a chapter at home each week and complete a timeline page and review questions. (Each chapter is about 45 mins in the optional audiobook). Students can expect other assignments at home including mapping, short writing, and other special projects.

Material Fees:

$20 first semester, $7 second semester. Materials fee provides each student a binder with timeline pages and materials to fill it, supplies for activities.

Skills Needed:

Students must be able to read at a middle school level (or utilize audiobook/read-aloud) and compose a paragraph. An interest in hands-on activities and willingness to participate in class discussion is beneficial.

Prerequisites:

No previous history course is required, this class is planned for a three year rotation covering Volumes 1-3, you may take in any order.
