In the Media Design and Digital Marketing course, students will create a business plan and then build beginning level skills to support the digital aspects of a business. They will learn foundational design principles, digital marketing strategies, content creation for various platforms, web design basics, social media marketing, and campaign management, with a focus on creating visually appealing and effective digital marketing materials across different channels.
1-2 Hours of project based weekly homework. Assignments will be posted on Canvas.com.
Students will develop a business plan and compressively build out the digital resources to support their business through project based learning throughout the school year.
Students need access to a laptop that they can bring to co-op every week. They will need an email address, access to Canvas for assignments, and consistent internet access at home. They will also need access to the design software Canva (purchased with material fees), GIMP.org Image Manipulation Program for design instruction & practice, and access to wix.com for website creation. Other websites may be utilized throughout the year.
$45 per semester//$90 for the year. This covers the $10 per month/student cost to use the software Canva and $10 for classroom materials.
Students need basic computer skills, a creative eye, and the ability to practice internet safety. They must be able to focus and follow instructions as they learn new programs.
