Description:

Embark on an exciting journey through world history from the Early Church through the Middle Ages (33A.D. - 1456 A.D.) Students will create a Mystery of History notebook, which features a keepsake timeline. Alongside this, the class will have various crafts, activities, and a few written assignments throughout the year. Students will learn to create memory cards, memorizing 12 important dates during the course. Join us as we dig into the past, revealing God’s sovereign hand in history.

Homework:

1-2 hours per week. Read a chapter at home each week and complete a timeline page with handout provided. (Each weekly reading is about 30 mins in the optional audiobook). On occasion students may be asked to complete an additional assignment/project at home.

Material Fees:

$25 first semester, $15 second semester. Materials fee provides each student a binder with timeline pages and materials to fill it, crafts and prize box.

Skills Needed:

Our textbook is written at a 5-6th grade level, reading at home could be done as read-aloud, or utilize the audiobook if students aren't ready to read on their own yet. Students should be able to compose a sentence. An interest in hands-on activities and willingness to participate in class discussion is beneficial.

Prerequisites:

No previous history course is required. This class is planned for a three year rotation covering Volumes 1-3 that you may take in any order.
