Description:

Students in this class will be members of the yearbook team. Students will plan, create, publish and distribute the co-op's yearbook. Members of the yearbook team will use elements of graphic and layout design, photography skills, editing skills and collaborative work. Students will become familiar with various leadership styles that will enhance their skill sets as team players. Students will also be required to interact with teachers and students on a weekly basis as they gather information for the yearbook. This class will be a full credit class and must be willing to put in the work outside of class time to meet the deadlines for all assignments.

Homework:

Homework load will vary depending on deadlines. On average, 1-2 hours per week, although students must be willing to work more when a deadline is due. There will be weekly assignments. Students must check email weekly for updates and assignments.

Special Projects:

Students may be asked to use their lounge period (if they have one) and/or their lunch time to take pictures. Students may lead or be the designated photographer for such yearbook activities as Spirit Days, Student Superlatives, Chapel, Field Trips, Junior and Senior High Events and more.

Supplies/Curriculum to be Provided by Student:

Laptop with WIFI capabilities that will come to co-op every week. An email address, and consistent internet access at home.

Material Fees:

$10 each semester. Please consider being among the first to purchase the 2025-2026 yearbook.

Skills Needed:

Students must be skilled computer users and practice basic internet safety. Teamwork, time management abilities and following directions are crucial. Students must be willing to enter a class or go up front during chapel to take pictures.

Prerequisites:

Student yearbook agreement must be signed the first week of class. Please contact teacher for more information.
