Description:

Welcome to Discoveries in Writing, a theme-based writing journey from IEW. Using source texts about the Bayeux Tapestry, tsunamis, Jerusalem and the Crusades, and other interesting subjects, students will learn writing skills including outlining, writing from notes, retelling stories, and many others. Mechanics, strong word choice, and vocabulary will also be covered.

Homework:

Homework will include weekly workbook activities, writing essays, vocabulary work, and other assignments not completed in class. Parents will be asked to read and edit their child’s papers.

Supplies/Curriculum to be Provided by Student:

Each student will need to purchase their own copy of Discoveries in Writing: Student workbook ISBN: Copies can be purchased at Rainbow Resource, the IEW website, Christian Book.com.

Material Fees:

$25 first semester. $0 second semester.

Skills Needed:

Basic writing skills (writing sentences with proper capitalization and punctuation), ability to listen carefully and follow oral instructions.
