Description:

This is a beginning course in robotics. We will be utilizing Lego Mindstorm EV3 robot kits and Lego Spike Prime kits. The objective of this course is to introduce the student to basic programming as well as problem solving skills. Students will work hands-on in teams to design, build and program the robots. Here is a website showing the Mindstorm kit we will be using: https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/lego-mindstorms-ev3-31313. The beginning of the year each team will build base robots and learn how the motors and sensors operate and use the EV3 scratch software to program the robots. We will conduct a battle bot competition and then end the year working together as a whole class to complete First Lego League challenges using the skills we have learned throughout the year.
