Description:

We will be reading all new inspiring life stories of George Mueller, Lillian Trasher, D.L. Moody and Corrie Ten Boom. We will be traveling to England, Egypt, Chicago, and Holland to learn about the history, culture, and people they faithfully loved and served. During class we will be engaging in lively discussions about these amazing men and women of faith, and we will get the opportunity to dive into different cultures and try new foods together. We will deepen our understanding of our Christian faith and discover some of the unique gifts God has placed in each of us to use for His glory. As a class we will be brainstorming ways to put our faith into action and bless our community. I can’t wait to see what we come up with. I believe they were born for such a time as this.

Homework:

Homework will consist of weekly reading, comprehension questions, scripture journals and other fun arts and crafts projects and activities. Students will be doing lots of hands on projects and will get to present their cultural presentation in front of the class to help them grow in their communication skills. I always invite in guest speakers that have been on the mission field or are apart of a ministry such as Reality Sports that is sharing the gospel and blessing our community.

Special Projects:

Each student will present a cultural project at the end of each book. Students will also be get to make and present their “Who Am I?” poster to the class. We will also be finding practical ways as a class to show the love of Christ and be a blessing to our community. Last year we brought personal care items to bless a local women’s and children’s shelter as well made blessing bags for Freezing Nights. It’s so awesome to see the impact we can make together!
